BOUQUET: to Lauren Road Nick for clearing the driveways of your older neighbours on both Lauren and Pearkes roads every day that it snowed. We all really appreciate your thoughtfulness. You deserve this recognition.
HUGE BOUQUET: to the secret snow angel that shoveled my driveway and sidewalk on Aldeane Avenue, not only once but every time it snowed. Thank you so much! I donB次元官网网址檛 know who you are but I really appreciate it. Thank you for your kindness.
HUGE BOUQUET: to the lady helping me with my luggage off the plane while I held my sleeping baby and to the gentleman who brought my four pieces of luggage out to the cab for me. Being a mom is a struggle but you guys made it a little easier.
BOUQUET: to Quality Foods for their use of compostable single-use bags for groceries. ItB次元官网网址檚 great to be able to reuse the bags in an environmentally friendly way. Good thinking.
BIG BOUQUET: to Kobe in Langford for stopping to help me clear the ice at the bottom of my driveway. He is a thoughtful young man and his thoughtfulness was much appreciated.
BEEF: In the 1970s and B次元官网网址�80B次元官网网址檚 B.C. shared in the cost of bus transportation for students, with certain restrictions. Does this happen now? My beef is with parents who complain about not having good bus service from SD 62 when they are trying to accommodate everyone. Hope we the local taxpayers are not paying all of the costs!
BOUQUET: to all the thoughtful people who shop at Real Canadian Superstore in Langford. Now that IB次元官网网址檓 having mobility issues, IB次元官网网址檓 impressed with how many people offer to help me. So much appreciated.
HUGE BOUQUET: to the person who delivers our paper every week regardless of the weather and in pristine condition. We sit down to dinner at 7 p.m. and when we have finished, the paper is there. Thank you very much for your professional behaviour and attitude.
BIG BOUQUET: to the numberless neighbors in Eagle Ridge, Langford for keeping my sidewalk and driveway shoveled. A heartfelt thank you to all of you.
BIG BOUQUET: to the lady in white car ahead of me at Tim Hortons in the West Shore on Sunday for paying for my breakfast, you made my weekend! I will be making sure to pay it forward to someone else!
BOUQUET: to GFL (formerly Alpine Disposal) for sending out trucks and crews on Saturday to pick up garbage and compost wherever they saw totes left out in the snow. Many garbage totes were overflowing especially after the Christmas season, and the folks at GFL worked the weekend to help alleviate the pickup problems caused by the snowfalls. Thank you GFL.
BIG BEEF: to the blue van who honked at me and then drove madly around me on VeteranB次元官网网址檚 Memorial on snowy Thursday as I had stopped for a pedestrian. Thank goodness the man and his little dog were far enough across the sidewalk that they did not get hit. Slow down and smarten up.
BOUQUET: Thank you to the lady in the red coat who picked up my wallet on Goldstream Avenue and tracked me down. I was having a bad day and struggling with several bags of groceries. Such a relief and thanks to your sprint to catch up to me. I donB次元官网网址檛 know what I would have done without you.
BOUQUET: Thanks so much to the young man with the shovel who appeared from nowhere to help me. My car was stuck from all the snow pushed up against it and I didnB次元官网网址檛 have a shovel and had to get to an appointment. I didnB次元官网网址檛 get your name but that was so kind and I made it to my appointment on time.
BOUQUET: It was wonderful seeing all the kids, families and dogs out walking in the snow and also playing in the schoolyards throwing snowballs and sliding on their toboggans. The laughter from their play was wonderful to hear. All were having a great time.
BEEF: to the gas companies raising the prices again on Vancouver Island. We pay the highest fees in all of Canada! What a racket.
BOUQUET: to the woman walking her dog at Havenwood Park who gave me a spare doggie bag. I had just realized that I had run out and wasnB次元官网网址檛 sure what to do until you came along. Thank you for being prepared enough for both of us.
BOUQUET: to the Island Health workers at the COVID testing site. Everyone there, including security, was patient and made a stressful situation as easy as they could. Thank you for everything you do.
BEEF: to Island drivers who turn and switch lanes without signalling. ThereB次元官网网址檚 actually a turn signal that comes pre-installed in your vehicle. A lot of you should consider going back to driverB次元官网网址檚 ed and learning how to use it.
BIG BOUQUET: to all the truckers who have had to drive up and down the Malahat with all the snow over the past few weeks, and all of the torrential rain before that. Thank you for bringing gas, groceries, and all the other essentials safely and stepping up to do that.
