BOUQUET: Wednesday, Feb. 3 my husband and I went for a dog walk in Royal Roads. When we exited the gate beside the Colwood Fire Hall, my husband collapsed (due to a sudden drop in his blood sugar). I wish to thank all those who helped B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ the two men driving their truck down Metchosin Road who stopped; the Colwood Fire Department, and the paramedics who took him to hospital. You were all so kind to us, but I didnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t get any of your names, sorry! My husband is well on the mend now. Thank you all for your loving care.

BOUQUET: A BIG bouquet to Mother Nature on Feb. 6 for giving us blue skies and a huge rainbow. I needed beauty today! As a bonus, my favorite family of four crows I like to call the Fabulous Four, who not only make me giggle every day with their antics in the sky, did their ballet in front of the rainbow. My smile will last quite some time!

BEEF: Highlands mining project is a bee in my bonnet. Why are we doing this? We are trying to keep you alive. Signed: The Trees.

BOUQUET: On behalf of the South Island Ravens, I would like to give a big shout out to West Shore Parks and Recreation for their support of the South Island Ravens hockey program. The Ravens are a group of young people with some challenges who love to play hockey. Getting ice in the CRD has become more difficult, as two ice surfaces have closed and COVID-19 has presented its own set of challenges. With this in mind, we would like to thank Kyle Laberge and all the team at West Shore Parks and Recreation for their help during the 2020-21 season. The positive impact on our players getting on the ice every Sunday cannot be properly expressed. We are very grateful for that support and also from our community for their ongoing support.

BOUQUET: To the teachers who are working hard in SD62 for the kids and making them feel safe and sound while maintaining their lessons and getting the kids ready for the real world. A bouquet to all the kids from K-12 B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·¦ it isnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t easy during these times to keep up with your studies considering all the changes. But keep up the great work and never stop learning.

BEEF: To the speeding motorcycle weaving in and out of cars on the Malahat on Sunday, Feb 7. You had a temporary permit on your bike, riding the bumpers of all the vehicles in front of you and then swerving in and out of the vehicles heading south. I have to wonder when your day is coming B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·¦ and the vehicle that hits you will be impacted for life because of your stupidity. Slow down B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·¦ speeding while riding kills!

BEEF: To the dog owner at Colwood Creek Park on Saturday, Feb. 6 around 2 p.m. Your black Labrador was running and having a great time playing fetch while pooping sporadically throughout his many journeys across the field to get his ball. But not once did I see you pick up his mess! Good grief B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·¦

BOUQUET: To the staff at the Alexander Mackie Lodge, thank you for taking such good care of my mom. I appreciate you!

BEEF: Please remember that some people are allergic to your perfume. Ever tried sneezing with a mask on? Not pretty! Please think before going out, that spritz the other day on your jacket or scarf is still there.

BOUQUET: A big bouquet to the driver of Better Meals in Langford! My mom and dad appreciate your well-balanced, home-cooked meals. We ordered this service for my parents just as COVID-19 started and we have never been more at ease knowing that our parents are well looked after now, at least for their nutrition. Your drivers are pleasant and your meals affordable and delicious. Thanks Sam and the gang at Better Meals for a much needed service!

BOUQUET: This is a bouquet to Jan, John and Teresa who own and operate the Pilgrim Coffee House. They are diligent about keeping each table clean, the seating safe and the social distancing measures respected. And then there is their delicious coffee and baked goodies, homemade soups and sandwiches. Okay stop drooling, go check them out! Thank you for all the care you give your community!
