It is with great sadness that I, Katheryn (Kat) Brimacombe, announce that my husband and best friend, Marvin Grant Brimacombe, passed away late on Sunday, January 22, 2017, with his family and friends by his side. Marve was born in Melville, Saskatchewan, on March 12, 1945. His family travelled to British Columbia when he was nine months old, which Province he called home forever after. He was a proud father to his sons, Curtis (Shelley) and Ian, and grandfather to Saige, Michael, and Arlen Brimacombe. He was proud of his extended family, through his father, Cyril Brimacombe, William and Kelly Brimacombe (Valerie, Jaylene, Billie, Jocelyn, Carson and Brody) and his sister Linda Olney (Shelly, Shannon, Lyle, and their children). He was also very proud of his nephews Lenard Ianson and Robert (Bob) Marquis. Marve had lived an absolutely amazing life; riding his Harley from a young age all over the North American Continent with friends, family, or all on his own. He loved adventure and he loved learning. For him, there was no such thing as impossible, BԪַthe impossible only takes a little longerBԪַ, he would always say. Marve had an energy that was bigger than life; nothing could or would hold him back. He was a logger, welder, hockey coach, sponsor, sand drag racer, and the best Harley- Davidson mechanic around. He could fix anything. Marve had friendships all over the world, from Germany to Florida to the Bahamas. He loved to travel and made friends wherever he went. His many friends (Len T./Roy W./Dave C./Rick F./Fred W./Ron H., to name just a few) know exactly who they are because Marve made sure to tell them. An OPEN HOUSE at his SHOP, MarveBԪַs Speed Shop (1365 Mile End Road, Cobble Hill, BC), will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. A spring motorcycle ride will be held in his honour once plans have been finalized. Riding his Harley was his greatest passion and it is my honour to arrange an appropriate tribute to him. The family wishes to thank the following people: Dr. William Reynolds and his lovely assistants (Michelle and Dawn) for their unwavering support through MarveBԪַs illness, the local Community Health Nurses, who came to aid for his last moments; gentle and kind, and the Pharmacists and staff at Mill Bay Pharmasave for their compassion and support throughout. Condolences may be expressed through Facebook under MarveBԪַs SPEED SHOP or Katheryn Brimacombe. I would love to hear the many stories that anyone wishes to share.
