Elsie Dorothy (Pollock) Daneau (nee Kemp)
Mom left our world to be reunited with Papa on January 3, 2011. Predeceased by her loving husband of almost 40 years, Jean Paul (Papa), she is survived by her eight children Diane, Susan, Gord, Randy, Kathryn, Bonnie, Debbie and Darryl as well as 29 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mom was born on February 18, 1927 in Toronto, Ontario. She was the youngest of four children and only daughter born to Elsie Mae (nee Hunt) and Sydney Thomas Kemp. She was predeceased by her older brothers Alfred, Sydney Jr and Jack.
She enjoyed being a mother, homemaker and working in her garden in earlier years. She taught us to play cards; her favourite games being euchre and cribbage. As a visitor of the Royal Canadian Legion in Langford, she enjoyed going out for Friday night B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·˜steak nightsB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ and Tuesday night cribbage games.
Mom enjoyed quiet times by knitting and crocheting. As her children and grandchildren, we received many gifts made, with love, by her hands. She was a skilled seamstress and was happy to pass on this skill and to provide help with sewing and knitting projects.
We would like to express our sincere B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·˜ThanksB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ to the staff at The Priory rest home for their gentle care of Mom in her last years. All of them loved her very much and are upset by her passing.
A family graveside service to bury MomB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s ashes will take place on January 14, 2011 at 2 pm at the Hatley Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Sooke Road in Colwood. A gathering for anyone wishing to pay their respects will be held after the graveside service at 1326 Justine Place, Victoria, B.C. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Greater Victoria Elder Care Foundation 250-370-5664.
WeB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ll miss you, Mom.
You will always be in our thoughts and in our prayers
