Sept 18, 1927 - Feb 19, 2012
Art passed away in Nanaimo, BC following surgery and a brief illness. Art lived a rich and happy life, full of travel, family, friends and hobbies.
He was born in Charlottetown and was a sailor, called to service in 1945. He had a long career with Canadian Pacific Airlines which allowed him and his family to see the world. In 1972, Art was transferred to Winnipeg, where he and Pat raised their family and made many life-long friends. In 1989, Pat and Art moved to Vancouver Island, as Dad wanted to live by the ocean once again. There they made lots of friends through their activities: square dancing, woodcarving and playing cards. Art was known for his humour and gregarious nature. He was a great teacher and happy to share his skills with others.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; his children, Lori, Christine and Michael; and his grandchilden Lee, Marie and Conor. Art was a favourite uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of ArtB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s life will be held in Nanaimo in June. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nature Trust of British Columbia or to the charity of your choice.
