Saanich Police says the identity of the woman who was found dead on a park bench at Rutledge Park on Monday morning has been confirmed and her family notified of her death.
The woman was a 62-year-old resident of Saanich who did not live in close proximity to the park, said Sgt. Julie Fast.

The BC Coroners Service is now conducting its fact-finding investigation to determine how she died, where, when and by what means. For privacy reasons, neither agency will be releasing nor confirming her identity.
Neighbour Doug Kitson frequents Rutledge Park to play Pok茅mon and first spotted the woman at 6:50 a.m. on Monday but thought she was asleep, he said. The woman was mostly covered with a blanket. He had passed through at about 12:30 a.m. earlier and said she was not there.
Saanich Police were called by a different witness and arrived at about 8:30 a.m.
