High winds are forecasted for Greater Victoria today as an intense front continues to blast its way across Vancouver Island.
Forecasters with Environment Canada are calling for 80 km/h winds over exposed coastal areas, that will ease late this morning off the west coast of Vancouver Island and later this afternoon for the inner south coast.
Heavy rain will continue to fall with amounts in Greater Victoria ranging between 10-15 mm.
The rain will continue throughout the week.
Environment Canada warns that gusty winds can cause damage to soft shelters, tents and outdoor awnings.
