Heavy rains and strong winds will continue to batter B.C.B次元官网网址檚 south coast Thursday.
Environment Canada says Vancouver IslandB次元官网网址檚 coastal areas could see B次元官网网址渟trong wind gustsB次元官网网址 hit more than 100 kilometres per hour, while inland Vancouver Island will see speeds of between 60 and 80 kilometres per hour.
The whole Island will see sustained southeast winds of 60 to 80 kilometres Thursday morning before the wind directions switch to the southwest and bring speeds of 70 to 90 kilometres from the Juan de Fuca Strait to the coastal regions.
The agency warned that high winds could cause damage to roof shingles and windows, as well as tossing around loose objects and broken tree branches.

The 6:15 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. ferries between Departure Bay and Horseshoe Bay have been cancelled, and routes between Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen-Duke Point and Tsawwassen-Southern Gulf Islands have been cancelled till 2 p.m.
