West Shore teen pleads guilty to armed robbery

The 15-year-old was brandishing a 12-inch sword with gold handle.

A 17-year-old male pleaded guilty to armed robbery May 9, via video at the Western Communities Courthouse.

He has been sentenced to 100 days in custody, 50 days of community supervision, followed by 12 months of probation.

On Dec. 19, 2010, the then 15-year-old  entered the Glen Lake Inn Liquor Store with another male. The 15-year-old had a knife and demanded the female clerk empty the till.

She complied and the transaction was caught on security camera. They left with $120 and a 60 oz bottle of Crown Royal whiskey.

Both males entered the store at 9:40 p.m., both had their faces masked and were wearing hoodies.

The 15-year-old was brandishing a 12-inch sword with gold handle. At one point, the cloth covering his face fell down and exposed part of his face. One month after the incident the clerk picked the teen out of a photo line-up.

The second male at the incident is still at large and his identity is currenty unknown, police say.
