Voters have a chance to meet candidates in the West Shore ridings for the May 9 provincial election at three public events next week.
On Monday (April 24) from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Royal Colwood Golf Club (629 Goldstream Ave.), the Westshore and Esquimalt chambers of commerce are jointly hosting a meet and greet with candidates from the Esquimalt-Metchosin and Langford-Juan de Fuca ridings.
Those who had confirmed attendance as of earlier this week included B.C. LiberalsB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ Barb Desjardins, the NDPB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Mitzi Dean and the Green PartyB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Andy MacKinnon from Esquimalt-Metchosin, while Cathy Noel (Liberal), Brendan Ralfs (Green) and Scott Burton (B.C. Libertarian) were confirmed from Langford-Juan de Fuca.
The next evening (April 25) at Pearson College in Metchosin starting at 7 p.m., Desjardins, Dean, MacKinnon and Josh Steffler of the B.C. Libertarian Party will participate in a student-led forum. The event happens in the Max Bell Hall at 650 Pearson College Dr.
Also on Tuesday, the Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce is hosting a moderated all-candidates meeting for the Langford-Juan de Fuca riding at the Prestige Oceanfront Resort. It goes from 7 to 9 p.m. at 6929 West Coast Rd. in Sooke.
