West Shore homeowners can expect to see property tax rates get noticeably higher under the Capital Regional DistrictBԪַs 2019 financial plan.
Colwood homeowner will see a $37.22 rise on average in their CRD payments in the tax rate from last year BԪַa 12 per cent jump.

View Royal homeowners can expect a 10.7 per cent increase to their CRD payments, which averages $42.56.
Langford will pay $365.22 to the CRD this year, an increase of 10.81 per cent or $35.62.

Highlands and Metchosin have an increase of 5.02 per cent and 5.5 per cent respectively. This brings service costs to $212.37 and $218.03, respectively, the lowest among West Shore municipalities.
Esquimalt property owners will see a notably significant rise in their rates, at 15.12 per cent, or a $62.57 rise, bringing their total costs to $476.44.

A big chunk of these increases are going toward a new wastewater treatment plan, accounting for the double-digit rise. Construction of the Core Area Wastewater Treatment Project makes up 78 per cent of CRD capital expenditures this year.
