Driving suspension after car crash on Highway 1, missing woman found and Langford home invasion all round out the week

A View Royal woman reported missing after leaving her house on Saturday, Dec. 1 was found four days later by West Shore RCMP.

The woman, approximately 65 years old, had last been seen on Island Highway walking towards Helmcken Road. She was also spotted in downtown Victoria.

RCMP Acting Sgt. Kathy Rochlitz said they found the woman in the West Shore unharmed. Rochlitz didnB次元官网网址檛 reveal the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Langford home invasion possibly targeted

Police are looking for a pair of suspects in a home invasion Dec. 3.

Two men entered a Langford home on Fairway Avenue, around 9:30 p.m after smashing a patio window with blunt objects, say police.

They stole a significant amount of money and an iPad. The occupant in the home was assaulted, resulting in minor injuries.

B次元官网网址淲e donB次元官网网址檛 know the motive behind this at the time, but we believe it was targeted,B次元官网网址 said Acting Sgt. Kathy Rochlitz, West Shore RCMP.

The first suspect was described as wearing a grey sweatshirt with a hood that was possibly embroidered. The second man was carrying a bag or blanket and wore a black hooded sweatshirt.

Both were masked, described as having a thin build and between five-foot-seven-inches and five-foot-11-inches tall.

RCMP ask anyone with information to call the detachment at 250-474-2264 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

 

 

Crash stems from alcohol-fueled fight

A crash on the Trans Canada Highway halted traffic on Dec. 3 after a grey Chrysler Sebring   crossed the median around 4:40 p.m.

A Sebring travelling southbound, crossed the median, landed in the northbound lane and crashed with a BMW. The crash near Helmcken Road prompted several 911 calls to West Shore RCMP.

Police said the driver of the Sebring was intoxicated and arguing with the passenger.

The driver was issued a 90-day immediate roadside suspension.

No serious injuries were reported.

 

 

Two face possible charges after search

A man and a woman are in custody after police executed a search warrant Tuesday on Bear Mountain Parkway.

West Shore RCMP Street Crime Unit assisted by the Regional Crime Unit executed a warrant in the 1300 block around 7 p.m. on Dec. 4. As a result, a 22-year-old woman and 37-year-old man were taken into custody. Both were on numerous court ordered conditions from prior property related offences, police said.

During the search police found numerous pieces of stolen property as well as equipment used to make fake identification. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

 

Police are considering charges of forgery, possession of stolen property and breach of court ordered conditions.
