Oak Bay police calls in Wild ARC for injured fawn

Officers took to Twitter to remind drivers to slow down and be wary after a fawn was hit in Oak Bay.

Oak Bay Police Department called in the BC SPCA after a fawn was hit by a car Tuesday.

B次元官网网址淲eB次元官网网址檙e now hearing about fawn sightings and as a result weB次元官网网址檝e had a lot of sign requests coming in this past week or two,B次元官网网址 Kilpatrick said.

Urban Wildlife Stewardship Society, based in Oak Bay, has distributed more than 700 signs that say B次元官网网址淐aution - Expect DeerB次元官网网址 and the municipality of Esquimalt recently ordered 200. B次元官网网址淲e have provided Sooke residents with over 70, and along with requests from Oak Bay residents, weB次元官网网址檝e got signs in Saanich, the West Shore, and Victoria,B次元官网网址 said president Kristy Kilpatrick. B次元官网网址淲eB次元官网网址檝e even sent signs to England, Oregon, and Australia. Those requests came from tourists who saw our signs here and liked them. WeB次元官网网址檝e also had requests from the Interior to use our design.B次元官网网址

The purpose of the signs is to remind drivers to slow down in areas where they know there are deer, in hopes of preventing vehicle-deer collisions.

Wild ARC also a juvenile eagle last Friday in Oak Bay after it was during a May wind storm.
