UPDATED: Man succumbs to injuries after physical altercation on Songhees Reserve

Saturday morning incident relates to taxicab occupants

26-year-old Kyle Syrenne of Victoria man has succumbed to his injuries after an early Saturday incident involving a group of individuals on the Songhees First Nation Reserve.

The West Shore RCMP's Major Crimes Unit and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crimes Unit is investigating the physical altercation, which occurred at Ned Williams Road at approximately 4:30 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 21) and was said to involve occupants from a taxicab.

Police are asking individuals from the cab to come forward to help determine the reason behind the altercation and help identify the prime suspect in the injury of the man.

"We are encouraging the occupants of the to come forward and speak with our investigators," says West Shore RCMP Const. Alex Berube. "It is a very tragic situation, especially for the victimB次元官网网址檚 family who needs answers as to what happened."
