U.S. resident pleads guilt to trafficking pot, possession of a prohibited weapon

Man also wanted in the U.S. on several charges

A Washington State man was arrested in Victoria last week, when he was found in possession of marijuana and brass knuckles.

Victoria police checked the 20-year-old man in Reeson Park on July 14 at 1:45 p.m. He tried to run away, but a sprained ankle slowed him. He was holding a half-pound of marijuana.

Police learned he was also wanted in his native Everett, Wash. for charges of burglary, theft, forgery and failing to appear in court. HeB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ll be shipped back over the border once his Canadian charges are dealt with.

New charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ brass knuckles are illegal in Canada B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ were approved against Michael Jelinek. He pleaded guilty to both charges Friday.
