Sooke is officially one step closer to the caffeine fix its been patiently waiting for.
Last week, the TB次元官网网址橲ouke-ke Nation began clearing the site for the new Tim Hortons, which will be combined with a Petro-Canada gas station and convenience store.
The site clearing and leveling is expected to last for the next two and a half of months. Construction is planned to start on March 1.
Infrastructure work will be done by the TB次元官网网址橲ou-ke Nation and the commercial development portion of the construction will be completed by PetroMaxx Construction Services.
The $5.2-million project was first announced in February 2016, but was held up due to lack of funding.
Gordon Planes, chief of the TB次元官网网址橲ouke-ke Nation, said the development will create employment for TB次元官网网址橲ou-ke Nation members and Sooke community, both while building it and when it is finished.
