Emergency crews rescued a hiker on Mount Finlayson Wednesday morning.
A hiker, who is not from the area, climbed part of the mountain before she reached a point where the trail overwhelmed her ability to continue either up or down.
Three members of LangfordB次元官网网址檚 technical rescue team were able to find her on the trail and bring her back down to the Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort and Spa. Four members from MetchosinB次元官网网址檚 Fire Department were also called in.
Langford Fire Chief Chris Aubrey said although it was a quick rescue, itB次元官网网址檚 a reminder to hikers that Mt. Finlayson is a physically demanding trail and hikers should be prepared before attempting the climb.
B次元官网网址淧roper footwear and clothing, drinking water, a charged cell phone and a high degree of physical fitness are needed to reach the summit from the Goldstream Park side,B次元官网网址 Aubrey said in an email. B次元官网网址淟esser experienced hikers will find the access from Finlayson Arm Road near the Highlands border to be a better approach if they want to reach the summit.B次元官网网址
