A 65-year-old Victoria man faces impaired driving charges after he allegedly rammed
his car into a parked vehicle on Boxing Day.
A witness called police to the scene at about 8:20 p.m., where a 2004 Chrysler Sebring sedan, which had been travelling along Haultain Street, hit a parked 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt "so hard that it deployed the air bags," said Victoria police spokesperson Const. Mike Russell.
Damage to the driver's vehicle was extensive, requiring it to be towed.
The driver was released from police custody with a promise to appear in court on Feb. 6. He will likely be charged with driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of more than .08.
