Suspect arrested, released in Victoria home invasion

Police are still looking for a second person associated with robbery and car fire

An arrest has been made in last monthB次元官网网址檚 home invasion in Victoria that included police responding to a car fire linked to the robbery shortly thereafter.

VicPD now say their suspect has been released on conditions pending charges and has not been named at this time. The strange incident began just before 9 a.m. on Feb. 6 with a home invasion in the 1300-block of Topaz Avenue.

Approximately one hour later, police and fire officials were called to the parking lot of the Ocean Manor apartment building on Washington Avenue where a car had been set on fire.

The car matched the description of a vehicle police believed had been stolen and then used in the robbery. It was a blue Volkswagen Jetta with a distinctive reflective sticker on the bumper. Police say the car was stolen between 11:00 p.m. on Feb. 3 and 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 6th, and then torched.

Investigators with the Major Crime Detective Division were able to identify two suspects, but are still looking for the second person. They ask anyone with information to call police at 250-995-7654 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
