A bachelor party kidnapping prank in Langford prompted a police response last weekend.

At around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, witnesses reported to West Shore RCMP that four men in balaclavas placed a paper bag over the head of a fifth male and placed him in a rental vehicle. They drove off from the Goldstream Station plaza toward Jacklin Road.

RCMP started hunting for the vehicle and at one point pulled over a uninvolved rental car on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Officers eventually learned the kidnapping was a stag party stunt.
