Emergency crews were busy Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, as snow wreaked havoc in many areas on the West Shore.
On Thursday morning, the Metchosin Fire Department responded to a reported rollover on Sooke Road at the four lanes. No word yet on injuries.
In Colwood, the fire department responded to three separate incidents last night. The first involved a reported head-on collision in the 2000-block of Sooke Road, however, there were no injuries.
Roughly 10 minutes later around 4:40 p.m., crews responded to a rollover on Metchosin Road, just before Duke Road. By the time crews arrived on scene, the occupant had gotten out of the vehicle.
Roads werenB次元官网网址檛 the only problem last night. Colwood fire also responded to a structure fire on Willowdale Road around 8:30 p.m. Three units from Colwood and two from View Royal attended, but when crews arrived nearby residents had already extinguished the flame and contained the fire to the outside of the structure, said Assistant Chief Greg Chow.
The fire is under investigation.

In Langford, crews responded to a report of a car that went into a ditch on Amy Road around 6:13 p.m. Fire crews conducted traffic control until tow trucks arrived, and there were no injuries.
It was a similar situation in View Royal. Chief Paul Hurst said traffic was basically B次元官网网址渁 parking lot,B次元官网网址 on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH), with cars moving slowly on their commute home. The department responded to two minor incidents, one in which a car went off the road on the TCH around the Thetis Lake area, and a similar incident when a car also went off the roadway near the Six Mile Road. There were no injuries in both incidents.

The West Shore RCMP were also busy for a significant portion of the evening due to the deteriorating road conditions. Officers responded to several accidents, but there were no injuries. Police will continue to target drivers who do not clear their windshields and windows.
And donB次元官网网址檛 expect any relief from the snow anytime soon. Environment Canada expects more snow to fall on Friday, with an estimated five to 10 centimetres from late Friday afternoon.
B次元官网网址淒uring the winter season, we do get these little brief pockets of snow and ice,B次元官网网址 Langford Fire Chief Chris Aubrey said. B次元官网网址淲e expect them potentially between now and when spring fully hits, so do take care and caution when driving. Make sure you have good winter tires and that youB次元官网网址檙e driving to the weather conditions. If you donB次元官网网址檛 need to drive in really snowy and icy conditions, then stay at home.B次元官网网址
