Last night (Tuesday, Jan. 27) at 8:30, West Shore RCMP received a 911 call reporting a male had been shot in a residence on Sooke Road.
West Shore RCMP officers attended to a residence in the 2600 Block of Sooke Rd. and located a male inside the residence with gunshot wounds. It is unknown at this time the relationship between this male and the residence where he was located.
BC Ambulance transported the male to hospital where he remains in serious condition. West Shore RCMP Patrol Officers and Major Crime Unit Officers are currently on scene and are being assisted by the Saanich Police Department's Canine Unit, Island District Forensic Identification Section, officers from the Island District General Investigation Section and Officers from the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit.
Sooke Road was closed for a period of time between Happy Valley Road and Jacklin Road for the purposes of this investigation, but has since been reopened to the public.
