As ValentineBԪַs Day approaches, Victoria is raking in the romantic accolades.
Listed in the Top 10 Most Romantic Canadian Cities and being home to three of CanadaBԪַs Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants, Victoria is a proven winner in the romance department according to OpenTable, a provider of online restaurant reservations.
OpenTable revealed its annual list of the most romantic restaurants and cities across the country Wednesday.
Victoria came in as the 10th most romantic city in Canada in 2019.
OpenTableBԪַs Most Romantic Cities Index was calculated using three variables: the percentage of restaurants rated BԪַromanticBԪַ according to OpenTable diner reviews; the percentage of tables seated for two; and the percentage of people who dined out for ValentineBԪַs Day in 2018.

In ranking order, CanadaBԪַs top romantic dining destinations are Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Banff, Montreal, Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ottawa, Toronto, Saskatoon and Victoria.
To help plan ideal ValentineBԪַs dates, OpenTable ranked the 100 most romantic restaurants in Canada based on the opinions of more than 500,000 restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 2,500 restaurants in Canada.
Three Greater Victoria-area restaurants made CanadaBԪַs Most Romantic Restaurants list: Saveur Restaurant in Victoria, The Dining Room at Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay and Summit Restaurant at Villa Eyrie Resort on the Malahat.

The 100 Most Romantic list features restaurants from 50 cities across 9 provinces. Ontario tops the list with 39 establishments, followed by Alberta with 21, British Columbia with 14 and Quebec with 13.
For the second year in a row, Niagara Region rules in romance with 11 restaurants featured on the list.
The restaurant list is generated from diner reviews collected between Dec. 1, 2017, and Nov. 30, 2018.
