The sounds of sirens on fire trucks will herald SantaBԪַs arrival in your neighbourhood in the coming weeks. Although his schedule is filling up faster than his toy bag, Santa always makes time to climb up on a truck and hand out candy canes to kids and collect donations for the Goldstream Food Bank in most parts of the West Shore.

Both Highlands fire halls are involved in the Santa Go Round on Saturday, Dec. 8 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. BԪַSanta covers every area, every street and every house in the Highlands,BԪַ said Highlands Deputy Fire Chief Gregg Fletcher.

View Royal Fire Rescue is expecting Saint Nick on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The department will also have a drop-off spot for food bank donations at Eagle Creek Quality Foods that day as well because Santa recognizes the need is great for many families at this time of the year.

Colwood Fire RescueBԪַs Santa Go Round takes place on Sunday, Dec. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. BԪַWe canBԪַt make it up every single road, so head to the nearest main road when you hear the sirens in your neighbourhood,BԪַ suggested Joanne Topping, administrative assistant for Colwood Fire Rescue.

Langford Fire Rescue, like a lot of shoppers, is leaving the event until the last day this year. A truck with Santa will head out from all of LangfordBԪַs halls beginning at 5:30 p.m. to give out candy canes to those who have been good and not so nice on Sunday, Dec. 24 while accepting donations for the Goldstream Food Bank.

The Metchosin Fire Department is accepting donations to the Goldstream Food Bank during its annual Breakfast with Santa community event on Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fire hall at 4440 Happy Valley Rd. Check out the Metchosin Fire DepartmentBԪַs Facebook page for more information.
