CanadaB次元官网网址檚 150th year is winding down but the celebratory initiatives arenB次元官网网址檛 finished in Saanich.
On Thursday, Coun. Vicki Sanders announced a new time capsule project to be created and installed at the entrance to Saanich Municipal Hall. It will be ready in the spring, to be opened in 2067.
Sanders is an ambassador with , who met in Saanich council chambers with Mayor Richard Atwell, the Saanich B次元官网网址 and sponsor partners Camosun College, Peppers Foods, Canadian Tire and Big Wheel Burger, who stepped forward to make the time capsule project happen.
B次元官网网址淭he time capsule will be about 1.5-feet by three-feet, enclosed and sealed with a plaque on it at the entrance to city hall,B次元官网网址� Sanders said.
While the contents of the capsule will not be visible, the capsule itself will not be hidden away, rather, it will be above ground.
The 150 committee is still working on the logistics of exactly what the capsule will look like.
B次元官网网址淲hatever the design is should complement the municipal hallB次元官网网址檚 heritage values,B次元官网网址� Sanders said.
The capsule will hold about 50 items and will be completed in the spring.
SaanichB次元官网网址檚 150 ambassadors have already compiled a list but the public is invited to submit their ideas of what should go into the capsule, Sanders said.
