Two open houses will give neighbouring residents of the Royal Bay development a chance to voice any concerns or questions they have before Colwood council rules on a zoning bylaw application.
B次元官网网址淲eB次元官网网址檙e hand delivering close to 2,000 flyers to surrounding neighbourhoods,B次元官网网址 said Ben Mycroft, project manager for GWL Realty Advisors Inc., the land development manager for the project. B次元官网网址淲eB次元官网网址檙e certainly interested in public feedback.B次元官网网址
Mycroft said the application is to make the zoning for the area north of Latoria Road consistent with what is called for in the areaB次元官网网址檚 master plan. B次元官网网址淲eB次元官网网址檙e just sort of tweaking some of the setbacks,B次元官网网址 he said, adding the application is consistent with the master plan and doesnB次元官网网址檛 include any new features.
Once residents have had a chance to voice their concerns and opinions, Mycroft said GWL will use the feedback to submit a revised application to council.
In 2014, council adopted the Royal Bay area pan as an official amendment to the CityB次元官网网址檚 official community plan. The Royal Bay master plan for development will see the approximately 400-acre site turned into a mixed-use community, home to over 7,000 residents with up to 2,800 homes as well as businesses, open spaces, parks, trail connections and other public amenities.
B次元官网网址淲e heard from hundreds, if not thousands, of folks during the area plan consultations B次元官网网址 and we incorporated that into the application,B次元官网网址 Mycroft said. B次元官网网址淭his is just continuing that.B次元官网网址
The first of the two public open houses will take place tomorrow (March 31) from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Royal Bay secondary, 3500 Ryder Hesjedal Way. The second will take place on April 7 during the same time period and will also be held at the school.
