One of the largest music festivals on Vancouver Island has announced its lineup for this yearB次元官网网址檚 event, and itB次元官网网址檚 a good one.
Rock The Shores, scheduled for July 18 and 19 on the soccer fields at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre, will feature a mix of local and up-and-coming talent and established international stars for its 2015 edition.
B次元官网网址淟ast year I think we had 8,000 attendees per day and this year theyB次元官网网址檙e anticipating between 12,000 and 15,000,B次元官网网址� said Rob Martin, Colwood councillor and chair of the West Shore Parks and Recreation board of directors. B次元官网网址淭he numbers have just been getting better and better and better,B次元官网网址� he says, as have the bands being booked.
Akron, OhioB次元官网网址檚 The Black Keys are set to headline this yearB次元官网网址檚 event, joined by ageless rockers JaneB次元官网网址檚 Addiction, along with Canadian rock icons 54-40 and VictoriaB次元官网网址檚 own Current Swell.
B次元官网网址淲e are extremely excited by the world-class talent weB次元官网网址檝e been able to secure for this yearB次元官网网址檚 Rock The Shores,B次元官网网址� says Nick Blasko of festival promoter Atomique Productions.
He adds they expect it to be B次元官网网址渂y far the biggest yet.B次元官网网址�
Last year, Rock the Shores was the first B次元官网网址渙pen liquorB次元官网网址� festival in B.C., meaning there was no B次元官网网址渂eer gardensB次元官网网址� area where alcohol needed to be served and remain within. This yearB次元官网网址檚 festival continues with that model.
B次元官网网址淚t actually lowered the number of alcohol-related issues,B次元官网网址� Martin says. The B次元官网网址渂eer gardensB次元官网网址� model causes a situation where once people are in, they are hesitant to leave because they will need to wait in line to get back in, Martin says, so it creates more binge-drinking and over-consumption issues.
