RCMP investigating two suspicious weekend fires

Two suspicious fires early Saturday morning kept West Shore RCMP and local firefighters busy.

At just after 4 a.m., a call came into 911 reporting a vehicle on fire in the Langford Canadian Tire parking lot on Langford Parkway.

Langford Fire Rescue arrived to find fire engulfing a mobile food truck, LB次元官网网址檃uthentique Poutine and Burgers. Firefighters extinguished the blaze but the truck had already sustained an estimated $50,000 in damage.

Police say the fire is suspicious. Langford Fire Rescue is investigating the cause of the fire and West Shore RCMP are looking into any criminal wrongdoings.

About an hour-and-a-half later, at 5:30 a.m., West Shore RCMP also attended a fire in Colwood in the 3000 block of Chantel Place.

Colwood Fire Rescue put out a utility trailer that had caught on fire. Police couldnB次元官网网址檛 say the extent of the damage to the trailer.

RCMP are investigating whether the two fires are related.
