Monday evening crashes cause traffic delays

At 4:06 p.m. a grey Saturn travelling northbound on Veterans Memorial Parkway entered the intersection at Goldstream Avenue on a yellow light. A Dodge pickup truck travelling south on VMP was turning left at the intersection, also on the yellow light,

"The Saturn collided with the passenger side of the truck," said acting Sgt. Kathy Rochlitz, West Shore RCMP.

The driver of the Saturn had minor injuries.

At 5 p.m. another crash occurred a few blocks away on Millstream Road overpass just passed Peatt Road.

A Subaru was travelling eastbound on Millstream Road heading towards Goldstream Avenue. A silver truck was travelling south at the overpass and turned left crossing in front of the Subaru. The driver of the truck was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

Both crashes clogged up traffic and took about 45 minute to one hour to clear.

"Water pools on roads and the darkness (also factors in)," said Rochlitz. "It's just a different time of year."
