The entire Metchosin Fire Department is growing mustaches this month, well all but two women.

For the month of November all  34 male firefighters have opted to let their upper lip fill with stubble to support the international campaign to raise money for prostate cancer.

There are firefighters across the West Shore participating in Movember and growing some B次元官网网址榮taches, but Metchosin is the only department doing it all together.

B次元官网网址淭his is a way that we can give back to the community,B次元官网网址� said fire Chief Stephanie Dunlop.

All of the money the department collects during the fundraiser will be held in a special fund with the Metchosin FirefightersB次元官网网址� Society.  It will then be then be donated to local families with a family member living with prostate cancer.

Each weekend in November the firefighters are hosting fundraisers at the fire hall. Last weekend it hosted its first pumpkin smash. Children were harnessed in on a man-lift and hoisted 32 feet in the air to toss pumpkins overboard. The pumpkin smash raised $500.
