Next week the provincial government will begin its installation of new concrete median barriers on the Malahat.
About 1.4 kilometres of barriers will be installed north of Finlayson Arm Road. To make room for the barrier, the northbound passing lane will be removed.
Work will start on Monday (July 9) and is scheduled to be complete by July 13, with most of the work happening overnight.
The cost for this project is approximately $250,000. The province has earmarked a total of $8 million for concrete barriers and other safety improvements on the Malahat.
