Man's good deed will be rewarded, regardless

Go Fund Me site brings in nearly $5G for man who turned in money-filled envelope in Langford

While someone out there is looking for a large sum of lost money, the rest of the community is looking for the homeless man who found and turned that money in to the West Shore RCMP.

A Go Fund Me online fundraiser set up to reward the manB次元官网网址檚 good deed reached its goal of raising $2,400 in under 24 hours this week and has continued to climb as support from the community pours in. The total raised was nearly $4,800 as of late Thursday.

Creator of the Go Fund Me page, Mike Kelly said in a note on the site, B次元官网网址淭hanks again for being so kind everyone!B次元官网网址 He went on to say he would leave the page open for a few more days and that every dollar raised over and above the original $2,400 goal would B次元官网网址渂e split evenly between the intended recipient and the Our Place Society in downtown Victoria.B次元官网网址

West Shore RCMP spokesman Const. Alex Berube said they were still receiving tips and that people had come forward to claim the money. B次元官网网址淲eB次元官网网址檙e still investigating to find the rightful owner,B次元官网网址 he said.

As of yesterday police were still trying to man who turned in the money.
