The missing link is nearing completion.
Although delays have caused the original schedule to be revised, work on a small section of Leigh Road that will complete the connection between the Trans-Canada Highway and Langford Parkway should be finished by March, said Michelle Mahovlich, director of engineering for the City of Langford. Work on the $3 million project, which is being built by Westhills, began in February of this year. The completion date was pushed back to March 2019 due to to a number of reasons, including delays getting the hydro installed and having to adjust the railway grade. Another factor was that paving plants shut down operations from mid-December to February, Mahovlich explained. The work to be completed is the 140-metre section between Henry Eng Place across the railway tracks to connect to Langford Parkway.
