Construction of the new YM/YWCA aquatic centre in Langford is proceeding swimmingly.
Work commenced on the approximately $30-million project on Langford Parkway near City Centre Park in January 2014 and should be completed in early 2016, said Ryan McKenzie, manager of Westhills, one of the partners on the project along with the Greater Victoria YM/YWCA and the City of Langford. The facility will include a lap pool, a wave pool, a lazy river, warm water therapy pool and two slides, as well as a fitness centre, youth centre, child care centre and a Greater Victoria Public Library branch.
