Langford woman helps nab habitual thief

A sharp-eyed Langford resident helped West Shore RCMP arrest a habitual thief last week.

On Feb. 21, at around 1:30 p.m. a woman in the 2700 block of Kingswood Road saw a unfamiliar man rummaging around in the two vehicles parked across the street at her neighbourB次元官网网址檚 home.

She called West Shore RCMP, who promptly arrested a 24-year-old man walking along Goldstream Avenue. 

The suspect, a West Shore resident of no fixed address, had been released from custody just hours earlier.

B次元官网网址淗e was just released that morning from custody on an unrelated matter,B次元官网网址 said Const. Julie Chanin with West Shore RCMP. B次元官网网址淲ithin a couple of hours we picked him up.B次元官网网址 

The vehicles were not damaged and police say the man stole a small amount of cash. He is known to police and RCMP are recommending charges of thief under $5,000.

Chanin thanked the resident for watching out for her neighbourhood and acting quickly.
