A person who set their clothes on fire and placed them outside a second-floor window at a social housing building at 844 Johnson St., triggered a massive response from Victoria Fire Department crews in the early morning hours Friday.

Five fire trucks and 16 firefighters responded from two fire stations after a fire alarm came in around 3:20 a.m. from the Portland Hotel Society-operated facility. Staff at the building had put the fire out by the time crews arrived, preventing any further damage.
The person involved was not injured or displaced, according to VFD.
