A Parksville woman says she continues to be traumatized by an incident where her pet corgi, Molly, was badly injured by another dog during a walk along the Maple Glen linear pathway.

B次元官网网址淚t was horrible,B次元官网网址 said Cindy Hornung. B次元官网网址淢y dog was absolutely attacked.B次元官网网址

The incident happened on Jan. 26, just before noon. Hornung and her mother, Mary Huzio, were walking their leashed corgis. Hornung said they encountered a man with his dog, which she described was a B次元官网网址榳hite shepherdB次元官网网址 weighing approximately 100 pounds.

B次元官网网址淭he dog broke free from the guy, I think he was on a chain or something, thatB次元官网网址檚 what my mom said, and he run straight to my dog, grabbed her on the side and back end,B次元官网网址 Hornung described. B次元官网网址淗e picked her up three feet from the ground and shook her back and forth.B次元官网网址

To save her pet, Hornung jumped in and started beating the other dog.

B次元官网网址淗e let her go and just as I was about to stand up, the dog attacked Molly again and they guy just stood there and did nothing,B次元官网网址 said Hornung. B次元官网网址淎nd then he said it wasnB次元官网网址檛 his dog that he was just walking it for someone. Whether thatB次元官网网址檚 true or not, I just donB次元官网网址檛 know.B次元官网网址

Hornung picked up Molly to protect her and she said she was also jumped by the dog.

B次元官网网址淚 was trying to find this guy but he took off to grab his dog,B次元官网网址 said Hornung. B次元官网网址淗e just left as if nothing happened. [The dog] would have killed [Molly] had I not jumped in.B次元官网网址

B次元官网网址淪he will be alright,B次元官网网址 said Hornung. B次元官网网址淭he vet said the wound may heal properly on its own but theyB次元官网网址檙e not sure yet.B次元官网网址

Hornung said she reported the incident to the Oceanside RCMP and also to the City of ParksvilleB次元官网网址檚 bylaw officer. She has posted signs around the area to inform the public.

B次元官网网址淚 moved to this area so I could use the pathway,B次元官网网址 said Hornung. B次元官网网址淚 moved to this street because of all the paths and now I am scared to even go out.B次元官网网址
