Highlands council is seeking a meeting with BC Hydro before smart meters are installed in homes within the district.

The motion was passed after a presentation by Highlands resident Kimberly Grigg. Grigg is concerned about health effects from the meters and was brought to tears during her speech.
BC Hydro plans to install smart metres to allow homeowners easy monitoring of power consumption.
