Guides and scouts are marching all the way to the food bank this weekend.

Sunday the children and teens will carry as much as 500 pounds of food from

Westshore Town Centre to the Goldstream Food Bank where it will be donated.

The youth collected all the food from family and friends.

Sadie Twidale, 11, of Colwood is canvassing friends and family for donations.

This is the 22nd year of Hike for Hunger, all of them have been organized by Trudine Wilson, events co-ordinator for Guides Straits District.

The Guides and Scouts leave the mall at 11 a.m. and will gather at the food bank from 1 to 2 p.m.

The public is encouraged to bring food donations to the Goldstream Food Bank, 761 Station Ave. on March 3 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
