Waters are expected to recede in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area soon as B.C.B次元官网网址檚 River Forecast Centre predicts river flow will reduce after today (Jan. 4).

Thursday (Jan. 3) saw flooding at Martindale Road in the Parksville area beside the Englishman River near ParryB次元官网网址檚 RV Park B次元官网网址� a location which often sees flooding.

There was also flooding of Price Road near Errington Road in Errington, and reports from residents of flooding in French Creek, Brittain Boulevard in Whiskey Creek and Pratt Road.

The Regional District of NanaimoB次元官网网址檚 manager of emergency services, Catherine Morrison, said that, despite flooding in some areas, it did not trigger any emergency action.

Morrison said emergency services personnel are looking to assess river banks today B次元官网网址渁s most of the rivers saw an increase and breached their banks yesterday,B次元官网网址� she said.

B次元官网网址淚 can tell you that Environment CanadaB次元官网网址檚 hydrometric data is showing that the river levels are receding but we havenB次元官网网址檛 gone out to observe the rivers at this time,B次元官网网址� said Morrison as of 10 a.m.

Though B.C.B次元官网网址檚 River Forecast Centre has a flood watch advisory maintained for the Englishman River and the Little Qualicum River, there is no alert for high levels of rain. Environment Canada shows, however, that rain is expected to continue into next week.
