Loud bangs can be startling to horses, but Halloween fireworks will continue in Metchosin.

After meeting with several concerned horse owners, Metchosin fire chief Stephanie Dunlop made a few changes to the Halloween celebrations at the fire hall.

After her meetings with the horse owners, Dunlop agreed to run the fire siren for about one minute prior to the fireworks as a warning to horse owners.

B次元官网网址淭he horses are used to the siren,B次元官网网址� Dunlop said.

Several horse owners have said in the past that specific fireworks cause the horses more grief. The department hopes to work around that by comparing the ownerB次元官网网址檚 descriptions and the firework catalogue descriptions when placing orders.

The department will also be using no-report fireworks again. The fireworks have a little less of a B次元官网网址渂angB次元官网网址� than standard fireworks.
