Fire tore through an abandoned mobile home park at 697 Hoylake Ave. in Langford last night (July 23).
Langford Fire Rescue responded to the call around 9:30 p.m. and found one unit engulfed in heavy flames and smoke when they arrived on scene.
Langford firefighter and safety inspector Paul Obersteller said that with the dry conditions the fire spread through the grass and into another unit but they were able to quickly put out the blaze.
He said that witnesses saw a group of youth fleeing the scene and West Shore RCMP later located the group, who are believed to have started the fire by playing with lighters in the first unit.
Langford Fire Rescue was on scene this morning investigating the cause of the fire to collaborate reports with the West Shore RCMP.
