The Capital Regional District has approved more than $2 million in arts funding.

Organizations receiving arts development operating grants produce a wide range of community events.

The groupsB次元官网网址� activities bring visibility and economic benefits to the region, provide employment for local artists and technicians and provide numerous audience and volunteer opportunities for all ages, the CRD stated in a press release.

Last year, funded organizations produced more than 2,400 events encompassing dance, visual and media art, music and theatre.

The CRD Arts Development Service is supported by eight municipalities: Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay, Esquimalt, Metchosin, Highlands, View Royal and Sidney.
