One of the best perks about living in Victoria is mid-winter blossoms, and this year the trees are blooming early.
The City of Victoria has thousands of cherry trees planted, with famous areas including Moss Street, Beacon Hill Park and China Town for picturesque opportunities.
Two types of trees with different schedules are spread throughout the city to prolong the blossoming season, one cherry and one plum.

The District of Oak Bay also has hundreds of blossoming trees scattered throughout the municipality, and residents are noticing the early buds.
First cherry tree I've seen in bloom this year, on Monterey Street in Oak Bay. NB January 19 is by far the earliest date I've seen one of these trees blossom. Something strange going on here.
