There'll be a lot of new faces around the council table in Highlands at the start of the next term.
Mayor-elect Ken Williams didn't surprise anyone by beating out fringe candidate David Shebib for the top job. The multi-term councillor garnered 480 votes to Shebib's 42.
There was almost an equal absence of dramas in the councillor race, as six of the seven candidates were elected. Only 63 votes separated the top votegetter Leslie Anderson and the sixth candidate to get in, Ann Baird. Others making the grade included incumbents Karel Roessingh and Marcie McLean, along with Karen Burns and Gord Baird.
