As one of the youngest candidates in the province, Langford-Juan de Fuca Libertarian candidate Scott Burton has a lot on his mind. So much in fact, that heB次元官网网址檚 running for political office.
Burton, 20, also a student, says he chose to run in politics mainly because heB次元官网网址檚 tired of the province B次元官网网址渂ouncing between the same two parties, both as bad as each otherB次元官网网址 and that he went with the B.C. Libertarians because he shares their values and principles.
B次元官网网址淚f I wanted to be in it to win, I would have joined one of the other big three,B次元官网网址 he said.
Born and raised in Victoria, Burton spent most of his life in the same home in Colwood before moving to Langford in 2017. As BurtonB次元官网网址檚 been finding out, being one of the youngest candidates in the province is tough, but heB次元官网网址檚 keeping his chin up.
B次元官网网址(I got) a lot of criticism, however my mind hasnB次元官网网址檛 changed. I want whatB次元官网网址檚 best for this province and our Island and communities. I want to help make a change for the better,B次元官网网址 he said.
One of the main reasons why he decided to keep going is to B次元官网网址済ive the people of Sooke a voiceB次元官网网址 and recognizing that despite having the ridingB次元官网网址檚 Langford-JdF designation, Sooke doesnB次元官网网址檛 get much attention, if at all.
B次元官网网址淟angford is seen as the main portion of this riding, so no one pays much attention to Sooke. I believe that is wrong. The people of Sooke deserve a voice,B次元官网网址 Burton said, adding Sooke would benefit under a Libertarian government.
B次元官网网址淚 am here to represent the residents of all towns and cities of this district, from Langford to Port Renfrew who are otherwise not heard.B次元官网网址
