West Shore golfer, Nolan Thoroughgood, will be headed to Japan for the 2018 World Cup with his team in June.
The World Cup Qualifier was held at Bear Mountain and Canada competed against teams from Mexico, Guatemala and Puerto Rico for spots at the international event.
The boysB次元官网网址 division had four golfers per team and submitted a cumulative total from the three lowest scores per round, and the top two teams clinched a spot.
Canada made a late push in the 54-hole event going 5 under between all four players on the final three holes and saw Canada and Mexico tie at 23 over par for the tournament.
Thoroughgood finished fifth overall and said he felt he was more on his game than in the Hawaii State Amateur tournament.

Thoroughgood finished 11th over par (76-75-73) for the tourney at Bear Mountain. In Hawaii he finished the tournament 10 over and tied for the 12th spot.
In preparation for Japan he said he will work on the mental pieces of his game and use the tournaments leading up to it as learning experiences.
