A 54-year-old man is in hospital and awaiting a second surgery following an accident involving an RV at Douglas and View streets on Tuesday morning.
Edwin Douglas Jones was crossing the street shortly after 7 a.m. when an RV turned and hit him. The driver stayed on scene.

Emergency crews continue to work at extracting person struck on Douglas and trapped under RV. Driver has remained on scene and spoken to police.

Edwin has been under sedation for two days, so Jones has not yet been able to speak with him.

Jones said police are still looking for any witnesses to the accident.
