Also, Toronto Maple Leafs centre William Nylander was named rookie of the month after scoring four goals and adding 10 assists in 14 games.
Nylander edged Carolina Hurricanes right wing Sebastian Aho, Pittsburgh Penguins teammates Jake Guentzel and Matt Murray, as well as Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Zach Werenski for the honour.
