If youB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ve got political ambition, now might be the time to jump in.

Nomination packages for this fallB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s civic election are available at local municipal halls if youB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™re planning to run for council or in the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area.

For those seeking a seat on the board of education, packages are available at the Sooke School District office, 3143 Jacklin Rd. in Langford.

You donB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t have to be a resident of the West Shore to run in a local election, but you must be a Canadian citizen, 18 years or older on election day (Oct. 20), and a resident of B.C. for the last six months.

All campaign financing is administered by Elections B.C.

Nominations must be submitted between 9 a.m. Sept. 4 and 4 p.m. Sept. 14.
